FRESNO, Calif. — UC Davis men's tennis has its sights set on three championships at the Bulldog Classic, as the Aggies have players in the main draw Doubles A, Doubles B Consolation, and Singles A Consolation finals to be contested Sunday. At the 2019 ITA All-American Championships, Ivan Thamma won his first two rounds to advance in the prequalifying draw.

Daniel Landa and Andrei Volgin put up another 8-6 win, this time over Paul Giraurd and Phuc Huynh of San Francisco; Huynh reached the doubles final last year. The Aggie duo will face Cal Poly rivals Roman Shenkirk and Andrew Whitehouse at 8 AM for the championship.

In the B doubles consolation draw, Brett Brinkman and Dariush Jalali advance to Sunday's consolation final against another Mustang team — Fernando Fonseca and Alexis Delisle.

In the day's two scheduled singles rounds, Volgin finished the day undefeated with a straight set win over Sacramento State, before defeating Cal Poly's Fernando Fonseca 7-6(3), 3-6, 1-0(6). Volgin advances to play UC Riverside's Daniel Velek, another Big West foe.

Also recording singles wins, Chethan Swanson and Landa took out Carlos Rodriguez (SAC) and Johannes Seeman, respectively, in the consolation bracket.

Sunday's action in Fresno features the final rounds of singles and doubles, with doubles beginning at 8 AM.

Competing across the country, Thamma advances to the third round of the prequalifying singles draw, putting him within one win of entering the qualifying draw. Thamma posted straight-set wins over Ole Miss' Cotter Wilson, and Wisconsin's Robert Krill to face South Carolina's Phillip Jordan at 8 AM CT at the Case Tennis Center.

David Goulak was scheduled to play Martins Rocens (NC State), but was forced to withdraw the match.
