ALAMEDA, Calif. - Former UC Davis punter Colby Wadman is the newest member of the Oakland Raiders after signing with the organization on Friday.
Throughout his four years at UC Davis (2013-16), Wadman appeared in 45 games, recorded 244 punts, averaged 41.0 yards per kick and landed 68 inside the opponent's 20-yard line. In each of his last three seasons as an Aggie, he posted a per kick average of 40 yards or higher.
As a senior, he finished with a career-high 43.2 yards per kick average, a 66-yard punt (another career high) and pinned opponents inside the 20 on 11 occasions.
Before Wadman arrived to UC Davis, the Thousand Oaks native ended his career at Thousand Oaks High School with All-Marmonte League First Team honors, a 39.9-yard average and downed eight punts inside the 20-yard line.
Wadman participated in the team's rookie mini-camp in 2017, on a tryout basis, after earning a degree in managerial economics. In addition to his time spent with the Raiders, he also partitipated in the Indianapolis Colts' '17 rookie mini-camp.
Wadman is the second Aggie to sign a NFL contract in the last six weeks after former UC Davis offensive lineman Christian Schneider joined the Cleveland Browns in early February. Wadman is now the second Aggie punter on a NFL roster; after brief stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns, Colton Schmidt spent the last four seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
