Thamma's ITA All-American run ends

TULSA, Okla. — After winning his first round qualifying match yesterday, Ivan Thamma's run at the ITA All-American Championships ended in the second round of qualifying.

Thamma opened play against Bennett Crane (Indiana), winning in three sets on Monday to advance to the second round. There, Thamma fell to Zeke Clark (Illinois), a Tulsa. Okla. native, in front of Clark's home crowd, 6-0, 6-2.

Clark competed mostly at the 4 and 5 spots in the singles lineup, and ended his 2017-18 season with a 16-3 dual record. Clark won the last 13 matches of the season, and held a career high national ranking of 83 in Feb. 2017. 

Thamma will now join the rest of his team in a trip south to the UCSB Classic, held in Santa Barbara, Calif., Oct. 5-7, 2018.
