Parking Map | Aggie Stadium A-Z GuideDAVIS, Calif. - Two hundred ninety-five days: That's how long football fans have waited for Saturday's 6 p.m. home opener vs. San Diego since celebrating last year's season-ending Causeway Classic victory. And when they arrive to Aggie Stadium to usher in a new era of UC Davis football, the blue and gold faithful will notice more than a new coaching staff and roster.
From the moment fans arrive to the stadium, the first thing that will capture everyone's attention is a new state-of-the-art video board that will provide high-definition video and graphics. Measuring in at more that 1,400 square feet, this board is the largest in the Big Sky Conference and will surely become the new technological standard for other FCS schools across the nation to follow.
This new board, combined with an announcement that will take place during a second-half timeout, will also provide instructions for everyone in attendance to select the UC Davis Player of the Game — an opportunity that will take place at each home event this season.
Make sure you visit campus early to tailgate with other UC Davis football fans — that parking area will open at 2 p.m. — or take advantage of the Kickoff Street Party, located on La Rue Road next to the Victory Bell, statue of legendary head coach Jim Sochor and Aggie Stadium's ticket office.
The Kickoff Street Party will open three hours before the game begins, offer inflatable jumpers, games, food and drinks for families to enjoy before entering the facility. Younger fans are encouraged to keep an eye out for Gunrock since the Aggies' mascot is known to make an appearance or two throughout the afternoon.
If the words tri and tip make your mouth water and stomach rumble, swing by one of the two concession areas operated by Buckhorn Grill that are located on the main concourse. Beer is also available for purchase at these two stands, in addition to both Woodstock's Pizza tents located on the main concourse.
Also making their Aggie Stadium debut this season are three food trucks: Smoothie Patrol (every home game), Cowtown Creamery and The Kettle Corn Company (alternating home games) that will sell frozen lemonade, ice cream and desserts from the moment gates open to the general public at 5 p.m. through each home event.
If tailgating is a highlight of your game day, take advantage of the brand new Lyft Loading Zone, located on the first floor of the Hutchison Parking Structure, one block east of Aggie Stadium next to Transportation Services and Hutchison Field. By clicking here, Aggie fans can travel safely to and from campus, and save $5 on their Lyft ride.
The two best deals in college football are available for UC Davis fans this season: In addition to individual season tickets starting at $50, the UC Davis Children's Hospital Football Family Pack includes two adult general admission season tickets and a Junior Aggie pass (for fans ages 3-13) for one low price. As an added bonus, the first 200 families to purchase this package will receive a free blanket, courtesy of UC Davis Children's Hospital.
Additional Junior Aggie passes, which includes admission to all UC Davis Athletics home events throughout the 2017-18 season, are available for purchase in person at the box office, online at UCDavisAggies.com, over the phone from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday by calling (530) 752-AGS1 (2471), and every home game day starting at 10 a.m.
