DAVIS, Calif. - After competing in three straight road tournaments, UC Davis will enjoy a nice luxury leading up to its Big West opener at the end of the month because softball will play it next 13 straight games in local venues.

After traveling to Stanford on Wednesday for this season's series finale, softball's following 12 games will all take place at La Rue Field - can't get more local than that - in back-to-back tournaments, starting with Thursday's Aggie Invitational I opener vs. San José State.

In addition to the Spartans, Seton Hall, Iowa State and UMass will visit Davis to compete in this weekend's 13-game event. After the Aggies face SJSU, they will end Thursday's schedule against Seton Hall. Another game against San Jose State and a matchup vs. UMass is slated for Friday; softball will take on Seton Hall on Saturday before hosting Iowa State in the final game of the weekend on Sunday.

This weekend's action is marks the first head-to-head contests against San José State since the 2011 season, and Seton Hall since 2008 - the program's first year as a Division I team. That season, the Aggies defeated the Pirates, 4-0, at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, hosted by UNLV.

UC Davis will face UMass for the first time in program history on Friday.

For the second time in as many seasons, Iowa State will visit La Rue Field to face the Aggies in tournament play. Last year, UC Davis downed the Cyclones, 6-4, in the opening game of the Aggie Invitational I. With that result, softball extended its head-to-head win streak vs. its Big XII foe to 3-0.

The Aggies' first-ever victory against ISU took place in 2007 at the National Invitational Softball Tournament (Sunnyvale, Calif.); following that 4-1 result, UC Davis defeated the Cyclones during the 2015 season (1-0 score) when the teams met at the San Diego Classic I.
