DAVIS, Calif. - Maddy Rojas, Alex Sotomayor and Taylor Peters each drove in a run in Saturday's non-conference game at La Rue Field vs. UMass, Taiya McInnis hit 2-for-4, and combined with Peters' two hits, were responsible for half of their team's total in a game the Minutewomen won by a 9-5 margin.

McInnes' single to third and Rojas' single to left field, both taking place in the bottom of the second inning, helped the Aggies score a run on each at bat to turn an early 3-0 deficit into a 3-2 score.

UC Davis scored its next run in the bottom of the fifth when UMass' first baseman could not handle a ground ball hit by Alexis Carney, which allowed Peters to score on that error.

After UMass scored twice in the top of the sixth, the Aggies responded with another two runs in their half of that frame, but it was a four-run fifth inning that lifted the Minutewomen to victory.

UC Davis will now enter Sunday's 11:45 a.m. tournament finale, vs. Iowa State, with an 8-17 overall record.
