FRESNO, Calif. - UC Davis tied Sunday's tournament finale at the Bulldog Classic when Caroline Figueroa drove in Alexis Carney, scoring the first of two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Figueroa touched home plate herself shortly thereafter on a triple to right field from Alex Sotomayor, to pull the Aggies even with the tournament's host at 2-2. But a four-run effort from Fresno State, when it returned to the plate, ended up being the difference in a game the Bulldogs win by a 7-3 score.

After FSU's fourth inning took place, UC Davis trimmed its deficit to a 6-3 margin with two innings still remaining. In a scoring rally that started with Christa Castello reaching first on a Bulldog throwing error, Ashley Lotoszynski advanced the Aggie shortstop to second on a single. The following batter, Marissa Jauregui, reached base on a single of her own, but another throwing errow allowed Castello to score.

UC Davis ended its weekend at Margie Wright Diamond with a 5-8 record, while Fresno State improved to 10-6.

The Aggies will now return home for a midweek matchup vs. Sacramento State, scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at La Rue Field. With a victory, UC Davis will sweep this year's Causeway Cup series.
