DAVIS, Calif. - After waiting eight matches into the team's spring schedule, women's tennis fans finally had an opportunity to cheer on the Aggies in a Big West Conference match, the team's first home league event of the season. Everyone on hand witnessed a fierce battle that included comeback efforts in all three doubles matches, and thrilling action on all six tennis courts throughout singles play. But UC Santa Barbara was able to win the doubles point, and the first three singles matches that finished to top UC Davis, 4-0.

The Aggies will now head to Santa Clara Sunday morning for their 10 a.m. match with a 6-3 overall and 0-2 Big West record; UCSB will face Saint Mary's late Saturday afternoon with records of 3-4 and 1-0.

A single service break was the difference in the two doubles matches that officially concluded; Isabella von Ebbe also led her singles match, on Court No. 5, by a 6-1, 4-3 score against Amanda Atannason when play was halted once UCSB earned its fourth team point.

Once it returns from Santa Clara tomorrow, UC Davis' next five consecutive duals, with all but one taking place against non-conference competition, will take place starting with next Saturday's matchup vs. Pacific.
