Feb. 18, 2017 LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Mother Nature won the day at the UNLV Classic on Saturday, washing out the two games on the schedule and forcing the UC Davis baseball team to play two on Sunday, weather permitting.
The Aggies are scheduled to open Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. against Omaha, followed by Saint Mary's and UNLV at 11:30 a.m. UC Davis and the host Rebels will then close out the tournament with their originally scheduled 3:05 p.m. first pitch at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
Led by three hits apiece from Mason Novak and Jacob Thomas on Friday night, the Aggies are looking to rebound from a 6-4 loss to the Gaels that saw them erase a three-run deficit and mount a ninth-inning rally in a back-and-forth affair after Saint Mary's had scored three runs in the seventh to take a late lead.
Ryan Anderson also finished with a pair of hits and two runs scored, including leaving the yard to lead off the fifth inning for his first home run of the season.
