DAVIS, Calif. - If there is only one game that UC Davis and Sacramento State want to win each season, the Causeway Classic is it. And in six of the last seven seasons, the Aggies have hoisted the trophy and owned bragging rights throughout the following year. This year's team will look to make it seven victories in the last eight years when everyone heads to Hornet Stadium for Saturday's 2 p.m. rivalry game.

Comcast Hometown will televise this matchup, the 64th between local rivals, in addition to a video stream provided by Pluto TV (channel 233) and WatchBigSky.com. In addition to an audio broadcast on KHTK 1140 AM, TuneIn radio will provide a stream online, and through its app - one football fans can access by searching for the "UC Davis Sports Network."

In addition to sending its seniors out on a winning note, keeping the Causeway trophy in Davis for another year and continued bragging rights, another rivalry victory will give the team its first winning season since 2010.

• Eight UC Davis athletic teams posted the highest NCAA Graduation Success Rates in their respective conferences, while four programs were honored with Public Recognition Awards by the NCAA after their Academic Progress Rate stood among the top 10 percent of their respective sports

THE DEFINITION OF A STUDENT-ATHLETE

• The distinction earned them an APR Award from the FCS Athletics Directors Association for the fifth year in a row as well
• UC Davis has increased its APR each year during this impressive run and owns the second-longest active streak of APR Awards (Bryant University has won six straight)
• The APR measures student-athlete retention and eligibility and helps provide a real-time mark of classroom performance

DOSS ADDED TO PRESTIGIOUS WALTER PAYTON AWARD WATCH LIST
• Thanks to a breakout season that includes top NCAA FCS and Big Sky Conference figures, junior wide receiver Keelan Doss' name is now on the prestigious Walter Payton Award watch list, a honor presented to the FCS offensive player of the year
• Doss will enter the Aggies' regular season finale ranked No. 1, among all FCS players, in total receiving yards, receiving yards per game and receptions per game
• A national panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will vote on 25 finalists following the regular season
• Past winners of the Walter Payton Award, which was first handed out in 1987, include Steve McNair, Tony Romo, Brian Westbrook, John Friesz, Brian Finneran, Jimmy Garoppolo and Cooper Kupp - players that continued their career in the NFL

MAIER JOINS DOSS ON WALTER PAYTON WATCH LIST
• Quarterback Jake Maier is the latest name added to the Walter Payton Watch List, as announced by STATS LLC. on Nov. 7
• This accolade is well deserved since the sophomore economics major has held numerous top five FCS stats since the first week of the season
• Maier will enter the Aggies' regular season finale ranked No. 2 in completion percentage and completions per game, No. 3 in passing yards, No. 4 in passing yards per game and No. 7 in total offense

• With its 49-14 victory at Cal Poly last weekend, Sacramento State locked up a winning record for the year and matched the highest Big Sky win total in program history
•Sacramento State is 4-1 at home this season, and holds a three-game home win streak for the first time since 2000
•The Hornets and Montana lead the league in scoring with their matching 36.2 points per game figure
•After missing the previous three games before heading to San Luis Obispo last weekend, junior transfer (UNLV) QB Kevin Thomson racked up 247 yards on only nine completions (out of 16 attempts)
•Sacramento State, ranked No. 6 in the league with its pass defense (242.6 ypg), will face a stiff test in UC Davis, the No. 1 passing team in the Big Sky with its 350.6 ypg average, 32 more yards than the next ranked squad
•Keep an eye on the Aggies' linebacker Ryan Bua and the Hornets' DB Mister Harriel; the pair are ranked No. 13 and No. 17, among all Big Sky players, and lead their team in tackles per game at 8.2 and 7.5 respectively

FOOTBALL UNITES US ALL
• Earlier this season, UC Davis football visited the International Center to distribute 2017 schedule posters, translated to Arabic, German, Indonesian, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish, to the school's international scholars
• In addition to distributing multilingual schedule posters, student-athletes also took the time to explain the sport of football to their new peers through drills, activities, one-on-one and group conversations
• Head Coach Dan Hawkins - who coached teams in 13 different countries before returning to his alma mater - his program, UC Davis Global Affairs and Services for International Students and Scholars organized this event

UC DAVIS' IRONMAN
• When the Aggies take the field his weekend, Fred Arp will witness, in person, his 455th consecutive UC Davis football game
• Arp was an assistant coach with the Aggies for more than 40 years before retiring at the end of the 2007 season
• His accomplishments as defensive line coach, and his reverence from the players he mentored, led to his enshrinement in the Cal Aggie Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010

•UC Davis will enter Saturday's game with five victories, all against Division I competition
•The 2013 team also won five games, all against Div. I programs
•This matches the total number of wins, against D-I teams, from the previous three seasons combined

WORKING THEIR WAY TO THE TOP
•By finishing last weekend's game vs. Southern Utah with 11 receptions, junior wide receiver Keelan Doss is now the program's new record holder for the most catches in a season (102)
•Tony Kays previously held this record with 93 receptions, which took place throughout the 2005 season
•Sophomore quarterback Jake Maier also set a new single-season record by posting his eighth 300-yard passing total
•With his 311 yards thrown vs. Southern Utah, Maier surpassed J.T. O'Sullivan and his seven 300-yard efforts recorded in 2000

BETTER BUY AN ERASER, JUST IN CASE
•The single-season record for receiving yards is 1,365, set in 2011 by Michael Oliva, a mark Keelan Doss will own outright if he collects 40 yards against the Hornets
•Charley Enos recorded 100 receiving yards or more in eight games throughout the 2000 season, and has the program record for most career 100-yard games at 14
•Doss also has eight 100-yard games this year and has an opportunity to set a new single-season record this weekend, also originally set by Enos that same year
•J.T. O'Sullivan threw for 3,826 yards throughout the 2001 season, something sophomore quarterback Jake Maier can match with another 482 passing yards
•Greg Denham threw for 300 or more yards in five straight games in 2008, matching Maier's effort this season
•Maier also has a shot to set a new single-season completions record, currently held by Greg Denham (296 in 2008)
•Throughout his first 10 games as an Aggie, Maier has 275 completions

BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO
• Unless you are junior defensive back Vincent White, who is ranked No. 10 in the nation with his 1.4 pass breakup per game average
•White is responsible for a Big Sky-high 12 of the Aggies' 37 pass breakups
•UC Davis' game at Portland State (9/16) is when White made a name for himself by recording four PBUs - the first of his career

DOSS IS ENJOYING THE VIEW FROM THE TOP
•For the 4th straight week, junior wide receiver Keelan Doss leads the nation in three statistical categories: receiving yards, receiving yards per game and receptions per game
•Doss will arrive to Hornet Stadium with 1,326 total yards, a 132.6 ypg and 10.2 rpg averages

AN AGGIE LEGEND RETURNS HOME
• Last weekend, UC Davis Athletics honored former Aggie quarterback, and 10-year NFL veteran Ken O'Brien
• O'Brien was recognized at halftime of the Aggies' home finale, and became the first member of the Aggie Pride Wall, which adorns Aggie Stadium's press box
• Originally from nearby Jesuit High School, O'Brien started three seasons for the Aggies after transferring from Sacramento State
• In his senior year (1982), he captured first-team All-America honors from the National Football Coaches Association while helping UC Davis reach the NCAA Division II title game for the first time in school history
• O'Brien set school records by finishing the season with 2,976 passing yards and 23 touchdowns, and also won the 1982-83 Colby E. "Babe" Slater Award as the school's outstanding male athlete of the year that year
• He also became the first Aggie to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, going as the 24th overall pick to the New York Jets during the "Year of the Quarterback"
• Throughout his decade-long career, mostly with the Jets, O'Brien finished with 25,094 yards and 128 touchdowns
• He also earned Pro Bowl selections in 1985 and 1991
• In 1997, O'Brien entered the College Football Hall of Fame - seven years after his induction to the Cal Aggie Athletics Hall of Fame

A PACKED STADIUM WITNESSED THE PROGRAM'S #AGSCENSION
•A crowd of 10,503 packed Aggie Stadium to witness UC Davis' Battle for the Golden Horseshoe victory on Oct. 28
•This is the fourth-highest attendance in the facility's history, and the largest crowd since Sept. 17, 2011, when 10,129 fans watched the Aggies defeat San Diego
•Two of the top three totals are sellouts, which took place vs. Cal Poly (11/6/09) and Southern Utah (10/13/07)
•The third-highest crowd took place on Oct. 13, 2007, also against Cal Poly
•Aggie Stadium's first-ever game took place on Sept. 1, 2007, vs. Western Washington
