SAN FRANCISCO - Isabella von Ebbe's straight-set victory highlighted a busy day of action for UC Davis at the Battle in the Bay as the sophomore Aggie will return to the California Tennis Club Saturday afternoon to compete in one of two consolation singles semifinals.

Von Ebbe earned a berth in the final four after defeating Pacific's Anneroos Nederstigt in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-3. She will now face Nabila Farah (Santa Clara) tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. The winner of this matchup will face the winner of the other semifinal featuring Shanna Dos Santos and No. 4-seeded Devin Chypha.

The consolation championship is slated to take place on Sunday in addition to main draw singles and doubles title matches in each flight.

Von Ebbe's victory took place shortly after she and teammate Lani-Rae Green competed in their inaugural doubles match of the 2016-17 season. The pair fell 8-3 to San Francisco's Dos Santos/Anna Sokiran.

Green competed in the Aggies' other singles match of the day, one that she dropped to Arizona's Lauren Marker, the No. 1 seed at this weekend's tournament, 6-2 and 6-3.
