DAVIS, Calif. -- UC Davis junior Bryce McKelvie defeated UC Irvine's Justin Agbayani in three sets to help the No. 74-ranked Aggies clinch their 19th consecutive home win victory, 4-3, over the Anteaters in front of 222 fans on "Senior Day" Saturday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

UC Davis snapped a three-match losing streak, ending the regular season at 16-6 overall and 3-2 in Big West Conference play, winning for the third time in the last four meetings with UCI. The win tied the school's Division I record for wins in a season set last year (16-6 overall) and clinched the third seed in next week's Big West Tournament in Indian Wells, Calif., pitting the Aggies against sixth-seeded Hawai'i in a first-round match-up at 9 a.m. on April 27.

UC Irvine ended its regular season 16-8 overall and 2-3 in league, clinching the fourth seed and setting up a first-round battle with No. 5 UC Riverside.

The Aggies posted wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to jump out to the early 1-0 lead in the match as senior Brett Bacharach and Eli Whittle posted a 6-4 win over Jonathan Hammel and Tyler Pham to clinch the doubles point. McKelvie and Tommy Lam also posted a 6-2 win at No. 3, improving to 16-2 as a tandem this season.

After some late switching in the starting lineup for singles, the Anteaters quickly evened things up with a straight-set win at No. 6 and took a 2-1 lead with a win at No. 3. Sophomore Everett Maltby brought UC Davis even once again with a 6-3, 6-3, win over Vatsal Bajpai, but Irvine rebounded with a win at No. 1 to put the Aggies' backs against the wall.

Junior James Wade responded with a 6-3, 6-4, win at No. 2 over Luca Marquard to tie the match back up at three-apiece, setting the stage for McKelvie and Agbayani at No. 4 to decide the match. In the only singles contest to go three sets on the day, McKelvie and Agbayani split the first two sets by identical 6-4 scores, before the Aggie junior eventually pulled away for a 6-4 win in the third to clinch the match.

UC Davis completed a 10-0 run through its home schedule this season and hasn't lost since a 4-3 decision to Hawai'i on April 1, 2014.
