RENO, Nev. -- For the second time this season, the UC Davis men's tennis team posted a shutout of Nevada, sweeping the doubles matches and taking all six singles contests to lift the No. 69 Aggies to a 7-0 victory over the Wolf Pack on Saturday afternoon at the Caughlin Athletic Club in Reno.

The win was the 11th consecutive victory for UC Davis, which improved to 14-3 overall on the year while claiming sixth shutout of the season -- all coming in the last eight matches. Nevada, which was playing its first home match of the season, fell to 4-10 on the year.

Extending their new Division I standard for consecutive victories, the Aggies captured the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 as Brett Bacharach and Eli Whittle posted a 6-1 victory, while Bryce McKelvie and Tommy Lam added a 6-3 triumph for the early 1-0 lead.

Teammates Alec Adamson and Adam Levie then improved to 9-5 at the top spot in doubles, claiming a 6-4 win, emerging victorious for the third time in their last four decisions.

The even numbers in the Aggies' singles lineup then came through to clinch the overall match win, claiming straight-set victories to put UC Davis over the top. Adamson, ranked No. 111 in the nation, defeated Andrew Poustie, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 singles, Bacharach eased past Peter O'Donovan, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 4 for his 10th straight win, while Jesse Ross took home the clincher, 6-4, 7-6, over Robert Margitfalvi at the No. 6 position.

The remaining three singles contests all went three as the Wolf Pack tried to mount a rally, as Nevada forced deciding sets with wins in the second set in all three contests after the Aggies took early leads.

Sophomore Everett Maltby was the first to finish, claiming a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, win over Robert Allan at No. 5, before McKelvie claimed his 15th consecutive singles victory over Mile Cilic, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, at No. 3. Junior James Wade improved to 6-0 at the No. 1 spot in the UC Davis line up, finishing the sweep with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, win over Ryan Andrada.

Saturday marked the second meeting in two weeks between the two schools after the Aggies posted a 7-0 win over the Wolf Pack during the Golden State Invitational on March 14 in Davis.

UC Davis returns home on Saturday (April 2), hosting Big West Conference rival UC Riverside at Noon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
