GOLD RIVER, Calif. -- Mere hours after sweeping past Eastern Washington in a morning match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center, the No. 73-ranked UC Davis men's tennis team made it 2-for-2 on Saturday night, posting a 7-0 victory over Nevada to advance to the championship match of the inaugural Golden State Invitational at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center in Gold River, Calif.

The Aggies moved to 12-3 overall on the year, clinching their ninth consecutive victory. UC Davis will face-off against the University of Portland in the championship match on Sunday at 11 a.m., also at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center. The Wolf Pack, which defeated Eastern Washington by a 7-0 score on Friday, fell to 3-6 with the loss.

UC Davis opened by clinching the doubles point for the eighth consecutive match, claiming wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to jump out to the early 1-0 lead in the match. Junior Alec Adamson, who played only doubles in the Aggies' first match of the day, teamed with Adam Levie for a 6-4 win at the top spot before rallying to take down Ryan Andrada in three sets, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles for his seventh straight victory.

Junior Bryce McKelvie was also taken to three sets in order to claim his 13th consecutive singles win, outlasting Peter O'Donovan, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, to clinch the match for UC Davis, while sophomore Tommy Lam upended Robert Allan, 2-6, 6-2, 10-5, at No. 6 to improve to 7-0 in duals this season.

James Wade at No. 2, Brett Bacharach at No. 3, and Everett Maltby at No. 5, all posted straight-set singles wins to complete the shutout -- the Aggies fifth of the season, all in the last six matches.

Earlier in the day, Portland defeated Texas-Arlington 4-2 to improve to 9-4 overall on the season, one day after handing Sacramento State a 6-1 loss. Sunday's schedule is as follows…
