SAN JOSE, Calif. -- UC Davis sophomore Jessie Lee outlasted San Jose State's Gaelle Rey in a three-set marathon on Saturday afternoon, posting the Aggies' lone point in a 6-1 defeat to the No. 60-ranked Spartans at the Spartan Courts in San Jose, Calif.

UC Davis lost its third straight in falling to 4-7 overall on the season to open a three-match road swing, while San Jose State ended a three-match skid of its own, improving to 6-3 on the year.

Lee bounced back from a first set loss to hand Rey a, 4-6, 6-4, 10-3, defeat at No. 3 singles. The victory improved the sophomore to 10-6 overall on the season, matching teammate Lani-Rae Green for the second-most wins on the squad in 2016, while earning her team-best sixth dual match victory in eight contests this year, including a 5-2 mark at No. 3.

After sweeping the three doubles contests, the Spartans won three singles contests in straight sets, clinching the match with a win at No. 4. Green fought valiantly to gain another point for the Aggies, but eventually fell in three sets to Marie Klocker at the top spot in the lineup, 2-6, 7-6 (2), 11-9.

UC Davis continues its road trip with a pair of Big West Conference matches in Southern California next weekend, taking on Long Beach State on Saturday (March 5) at 11 a.m., before meeting UC Riverside on Sunday (March 6) at 10 a.m.
