SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The UC Davis men's tennis team tied a program Division I mark with its sixth consecutive victory on Valentine's Day, as the No. 57-ranked Aggies defeated Causeway rival Sacramento State, 6-1, at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club in Sacramento, Calif., on Sunday afternoon.

UC Davis improved to 9-3 overall, winning its third straight contest against the Hornets -- all by identical 6-1 scores. Sacramento State fell to 0-7 overall to start its spring.

Junior Bryce McKelvie clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3, victory over Uli Vollath at No. 4 singles after the Aggies opened the day with a doubles point victory, winning his 10th consecutive match and improve to 10-1 in dual matches this season. Three of the team's five singles wins came in straight sets as junior and No. 81-ranked Alec Adamson defeated Kasparas Zemaitalis, 6-2, 6-0, and senior Brett Bacharach handed Joaquin Marquez a 6-1, 6-0, defeat en route to the win.

Adamson, McKelvie, and Tommy Lam were double winners on the day, the latter of whom posted a 7-6, 5-7, 10-8, victory over Christopher Clayton for his fifth straight win. Junior James Wade improved to 4-0 at the No. 1 spot, defeating Mikus Losbergs, 3-6, 6-2, 10-6, to round out the Aggie wins.

UC Davis, which has lost only three individual matches in its last five duals, is now off until the beginning of March when the Aggies face Villanova on March 3 prior to competing at the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships in La Jolla, Calif.
