TULSA, Okla. -- Making his second trip to Tulsa, Okla., in the last five months, UC Davis senior Alec Adamson returned to the site of last year's NCAA Championships to compete in the season's first national championship, the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships at the Michael Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.

Adamson faced off against Duke freshman Robert Levine in the opening round on Monday (Oct. 3) and came out firing, jumping out to a 5-2 lead in the opening set, and had set point against the Blue Devil newcomer, but couldn't convert as Levine roared back for a 7-5, 6-1, first-round victory. Levine is ranked No. 9 in the preseason Oracle/ITA National Freshman/Newcomer rankings, joining a lineup that includes two other players ranked among the top 100 nationally entering the year.

That sent Adamson to the consolation bracket, where he was matched-up with Mississippi's Filip Kraljevic on Tuesday (Oct. 4) and, again, the Corona del Mar, Calif., native jumped out quickly. Adamson took the first set from Kraljevic, 6-2, but could not hold on to the momentum as the Rebels' sophomore rebounded with a 6-4 win in the second, before clinching the match with a 6-3 triumph in the third.

Adamson's teammates continue their fall schedule this weekend, as the Aggies head down the coast to participate in the UC Santa Barbara Classic beginning on Friday (Oct. 7) and running through Sunday (Oct. 9).
