MORAGA, Calif. -- Four Aggie singles players and another doubles tandem took home titles of their respective brackets on Saturday, highlighting the UC Davis men's tennis team's stay at the rain-shortened Saint Mary's Fall Invitational in Moraga, Calif.

Originally scheduled to run the entire weekend, Mother Nature conspired to cut the event to just one day, featuring 14, four-player, singles brackets, and seven more in doubles play, guaranteeing each player and doubles team two matches.

Seniors Alec Adamson and Jesse Ross, along with freshmen David Goulak and Max Pham, won their respective singles brackets, while seniors James Wade and Eli Whittle took home the Flight "B" doubles title, on the day. Junior Everett Maltby and senior Bryce McKelvie posted runner-up finishes in their respective flights, as did the doubles tandem of Goulak and McKelvie, while UC Davis brought home a pair of third-place doubles finishes by the teams of Adamson and Maltby along with Pham and Ross.

Pham, Goulak, and Ross, all brought home straight-set wins in both of their contests, while the 67th-ranked Adamson battled Stanford's Roy Lederman in a three-set win, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8), before sweeping past Santa Clara's Robert Seby in the final.

Pham and Ross also put together wins over a pair of Pac-12 Conference foes in their opening round matches, with Pham upending California's Gunther Matta, 6-3, 6-4, while Ross put together a 6-3, 7-5, triumph over the Golden Bears' Ryan Cardiff. Both Aggies then defeated opponents from Santa Clara in their championship matches.

Maltby won his opening match against the Broncos' Vasileios Iliopoulos, 6-3, 7-5, before falling to California's Dominic Barretto in the championship, while McKelvie opened with a straight-set win over Santa Clara's Jesus Tapiador Barajas, before taking on Pacific's Alex Giannini in the championship match, falling in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).

In doubles, the team of Wade and Whittle lost only two games en route to their title in Flight "B", shutting out Fresno State's Bailey Gong and Patrik Pech, 6-0, before taking down the Saint Mary's tandem of Calvin Jordaan and Nash Vollenweider, 6-2, in the final.

The team of Goulak and McKelvie posted a runner-up finish in Flight "C", opening with a 6-1 win over Sonoma State's Allan Lock and Blaine Mengert, before locking horns with Sacramento State's Christopher Clayton and Kasparas Zemaitalis, before falling, 7-5.

UC Davis' teams of Adamson and Maltby in Flight "A", along with Pham and Ross in Flight "D", finished third in their respective brackets.

The event was the Aggies' final competition of the fall, now taking a break until the start of their spring season on Jan. 14, when they take on Pacific and Fresno State in a pair of dual matches in Stockton, Calif.
