DAVIS, Calif. - Sixteen hours after its unique weekend began - the team's Friday home opener was moved to an indoor facility, and its first serve was pushed back to 9 p.m. - women's tennis entered the Marya Welch Tennis Center Saturday afternoon to compete in its first true home dual of the season.

Kamila Kecki and Frederique Sleiffer won the only doubles match of the day for UC Davis, and Tiffany Pham won her first singles match of the season in straight-set fashion, but Santa Clara took the other five singles matches to defeat the Aggies, 6-1.

Since play was halted earlier this morning, as in 1 a.m. Saturday morning, Pham was unable to officially record a result in her singles matchup vs. Portland State, even though she was leading at the time, once UC Davis picked up its fourth team point.

The Aggies end their first home weekend of spring action with a 2-1 overall record, Santa Clara also holds that same mark thanks to Saturday's result.

After the Broncos picked up the first team point of the afternoon, thanks to their play throughout the doubles round, Pham evened the overall score at 1-1 once she walked off the courts with a 6-2, 6-0, triumph.

However, Santa Clara rebounded by sweeping the remaining matches in action to hand the Aggies their second home loss in the last nine contests played at the Marya Welch Tennis Center, stretching back to last season.

Now that its brief homestand has concluded, women's tennis will play its next four straight matches on the road, starting with next Saturday's 12 p.m. dual at San Diego State.
