Aggies earn fourth straight CSCAA academic award

July 1, 2015

DAVIS, Calif. -- For the fourth consecutive term, the UC Davis women's swimming and diving team has earned Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, the organization announced.

The Aggies were among a group of 172 Division I schools -- and a record 406 schools across all divisions -- that were named to the team, each achieving a team grade point average of 3.0 or above. The award is present twice annually, one in the fall semester/term and, again, in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA swimming and diving championships (winter/spring).

One of five Mountain Pacific Sports Federation schools named to the spring list, UC Davis has been named to the honor roll in each term beginning with the fall of the 2013-14 campaign, and is one of two MPSF squads to make the list in all four terms during that stretch along with Hawai'i. A full list of the team honorees is available at www.CSCAA.org.

The Aggies wrapped up the 2014-15 season with a 5-2 record in dual meets -- including a 4-0 mark against MPSF foes -- before finishing second at the conference championships and having 16 swimmers and divers named to the all-conference honor rolls.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
