DAVIS, Calif. -- Marly Anderson, a 6-foot-2 post from Portland, Ore., who played the last two seasons at Eastern Washington in the Big Sky Conference, has signed a grant-in-aid agreement to continue her athletic and academic career at UC Davis, head women's basketball coach Jennifer Gross announced on Wednesday.

Anderson joins Pacific Northwest natives Karley and Kourtney Eaton of Mark Morris HS in Longview, Wash., as newcomers to the Aggies' roster. The Eaton twins signed National Letters of Intent with UC Davis during the early signing period in November. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Anderson must sit out the 2015-16 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Aggies beginning with the 2016-17 campaign.

"Marly is a great person who understands the team concept so she fit in immediately with our group," Head Coach Jennifer Gross said. "She has great size and mobility, scores well around the basket, and can stretch the defense with her outside shooting. Marly expressed a strong desire to improve her game and we are excited to help her do that during this redshirt year. We expect her to have an immediate impact on the court when she becomes eligible in 2016-17."

Anderson appeared in 31 of the Eagles' 33 games as a sophomore in 2014-15, helping EWU to a 21-12 overall mark, a 12-6 record in Big Sky contests, and a trip to the second round of the WNIT. A two-time Big Sky All-Academic Team honoree, Anderson set a career high with 10 points in 13 minutes in a loss to top-seeded Montana in the semifinals of the conference tournament and grabbed a career-best six rebounds at Portland State on Feb. 14 to go along with eight points. Overall, she shot .354 from the field and blocked 30 shots.

As a freshman, Anderson appeared in 19 games for EWU, scoring a season-best nine points against Northwest University and a season-high four rebounds against Butler.

A four-year letter winner at Glencoe HS in Hillsboro, Ore., Anderson received All-Pacific Conference honors following all four of her prep seasons, collecting first-team honors as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She helped lead her team to the state tournament as a junior, averaging 17 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks per game, and was named to the Oregon All-Star Team following her senior season, averaging 18.5 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks per game.
