DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis won two of three doubles matches to take an early 1-0, overall lead in Saturday's Big West Conference dual at the Marya Welch Tennis Center, but No. 68 Hawai'i captured points in five of six singles matches to secure a 5-2 win and snap the Aggies' four-match home win streak.

UC Davis falls to 9-11 overall and 3-5 in conference play while UH improves to 9-9 and 4-3 respectively. 

Saturday's match was the final league contest for UC Davis; only two non-conference matchups remain until the Aggies head to Indian Wells to compete at this year's Big West Women's Tennis Tournament.

The Rainbow Wahine won the first doubles match that finished, and needed only one more victory out of the final two that were still in action to collect the first team point of the afternoon.

Tiffany Pham and Lani-Rae Green created a best-of-one situation after they defeated Viktoria Malova and Klara Pribylova, 8-4, at No. 3.

Layla Sanders and Kristy Jorgensen, who faced Martina Kostalova and Paulina Petriskova at No. 1, ended the Aggies doubles comeback in victorious fashion by posting an 8-3 win, which gave their team a 1-0 overall lead heading into the singles round. 

After UH tied the score at one apiece by taking the first singles matchup, Kristy Jorgensen earned an individual sweep after defeating Malova, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, in a fierce battle at the No. 2 position.

Even though UC Davis regained its one-point lead with Jorgensen's result, the Rainbow Wahine won the remaining four singles matches to end their road trip with a win over a surging Aggie squad.

Entering Saturday's matchup, UC Davis opened its season-ending seven-match homestand by defeating the first four teams to visit the Marya Welch Tennis Center. Women's tennis also won six of its previous seven home matches before falling to UH.

Cal State Stanislaus is the next team to visit campus, and will do so on Saturday, April 11, in the penultimate dual of the season for the Aggies. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
