DAVIS, Calif. - Kamila Kecki stormed back and turned a 5-2, third-set deficit, into a 7-5 set victory, and Jessie Lee recorded a three-set win of her own to lift UC Davis to a 4-3 victory over Cal Poly in Saturday's Big West Conference match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

The Aggies will enter tomorrow's 11 a.m. match against No. 73 UC Santa Barbara, the last of its current four-match homestand, with a 5-8 overall and 3-3 Big West record. Cal Poly falls to 1-7 and 0-2 respectively with the result.

Competing at No. 1 doubles, Layla Sanders and Kristy Jorgensen topped Dane Joubert and Louise Oxnevad, 8-5, to help UC Davis collect the first point of the match.

Kecki and her doubles partner, Frederique Sleiffer, breezed past the Mustangs' tandem of Zoe Oedekerk and Bryn Bacharach, 8-3, to win the first doubles match of the day.

Entering singles play with a 1-0 advantage, Cal Poly won the first two singles matches to take its first lead of the afternoon.

Frederique Sleiffer tied the match at two apiece once she defeated Sayaka Tsugai, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to record the first of three Aggie singles wins.

A spirited battlebetween Kecki and Abigail Bacharach needed three sets to determine a winner.

Kecki dropped the first set, 4-6, but rebounded in the following frame, 6-4, to force a winner-take-all situation in the third.

Even though the sophomore experienced a rough start, Kecki trailed 5-2 and was on the precipice of losingher match, she remained focused and never lost her poise.From that point on, Kecki dug deep, won the next five straight games to come from behind and take the third set by a 7-5 margin.

That gritty performance capped a day that saw Kecki and Sleiffer sweep both matches played against Mustangs.

After splitting her first two sets against Bryn Bacharach, she won the first frame, 6-1, before falling in the next by a 6-3 score,Jessie Lee pulled away in the decisive frame topost the final team point of the day for the Aggies after nearly three hours of competition.
