DAVIS, Calif. -- The UC Davis men's tennis team won eight of the nine matches on the day -- including five of the six singles contests in straight sets -- lifting the No. 67 Aggies to their fifth consecutive victory, 7-0, over visiting Northern Colorado on Sunday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

UC Davis improved to 12-3 overall and remained perfect at home with a 6-0 record. The Bears have lost four of their last five, falling to 4-9 overall on the season.

Sunday marked the second straight shutout for the Aggies, the third in their last four dual matches, and their fifth overall this season, winning two of three in doubles (the third went unfinished after UC Davis clinched the doubles point), and sweeping all six singles contests.

Bryce McKelvie, Brett Bacharach, and James Wade, all posted individual sweeps, winning both their doubles and singles contests, while Alec Adamson and Everett Maltby also posted straight-set wins. Sophomore Jesse Ross was the only Aggie extended to third-set tiebreaker, eventually defeating Connor Finerty, 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.

With his win, Wade extended his winning streak to eight straight singles contests, moving to 21-7 overall and 11-2 in dual matches, while Bacharach won his seventh consecutive singles match and is 8-2 in his last 10 outings. Maltby became the second 20-match winner for UC Davis, improving to 20-6 this season and 9-3 in duals.

The Aggies take a break for final exams this week before hitting the friendly skies, hopping across the Pacific for their Big West Conference opener at Hawai'i on March 26 and a non-conference contest at Hawai'i-Pacific on March 27.
