BERKELEY, Calif. - Newcomers Kelsie Bryant, Alex Huie, and Isabella Von Ebbe won their inaugural singles match as an Aggie, were responsible for three of seven singles victories and helped UC Davis win one doubles matchup at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Tennis Courts during the first day of action at the Cal Fall Invitational.

In the Gold Flight, Huie, a junior transfer breezed past Cal Poly's Ilana Oleynik, 6-1, 6-1, to pick up her first singles victory in a UC Davis uniform.

Huie's teammates, Bryant and von Ebbe, won their first-ever collegiate singles match and were two of three Aggies who posted victories in the White Flight. Bryant defeated BYU's Brittanie Eraso, 7-5, 6-1, and von Ebbe topped Delaney Phanco from Nevada, 6-3, 6-1. Kamila Kecki picked up UC Davis' other victory in this bracket, and dropped only one game en route to a 6-0, 6-1 result versus Cal Poly's Abigail Bacharach.

UC Davis' other three singles wins took place in the consolation bracket of the Gold Flight; all took place in straight sets when Jessie Lee downed Sayaka Tsugai, 6-1, 6-4, Lani-Rae Green negated Audrey Mayer's home-court advantage to record a 7-5, 6-1 win and Tiffany Pham capped the Aggies' stellar play in this bracket by breezing past BYU's Erica Valimaki, 6-3, 6-2.

All three Aggies will return to action Saturday morning as three of eight consolation quarterfinal participants.

In a hard-fought match in the Gold Flight's main doubles draw, Kecki and Bryant paired up to defeat Pacific's team of Cristina Saenz De Buruaga-Yuki Asami by a 7-2 score in the tiebreaker, to post an 8-7 victory.

Kecki and Bryant will face Chelby Cook and Madison Clark (Santa Clara) in doubles quarterfinal action that will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the morning. If victorious, the two will compete in one of two semifinal matches slated for 9:30 a.m.

Day two in Berkeley will feature round robin competition, two doubles and one singles round.
