LA JOLLA, Calif. -- After Southern California rain washed away the first day of competition, three UC Davis doubles tandems shook off the weather to post wins and advance at the 125th annual Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club in La Jolla, Calif., on Saturday.
The ninth-seeded team of Alec Adamson and Adam Levie defeated Jan Gleisner and Jordan Lomas, 8-4, to advance and face Boston College's Jonathan Raude and Alexandre Thirouin at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.
UC Davis' Adam Luba and Kyle Miller, as well as the tandem of Brett Bacharach and James Wade, also posted wins to advance. Luba and Miller defeated Andrew Malozsak and Daniel Minami, 8-4, and will face either Derek Siddiqui and Shiva Sangwan or Stanford's duo of Daniel Ho and Robert Stineman at 11:30 a.m.
Bacharach and Wade posted a dominating 8-2 victory over Evan Lee and Travis Martin, and will face the and face the eighth-seeded tandem of Gustavo Gonzalez and Bojan Szumanski of Rice at Noon.
In other action, the Aggies Parker Kelley and Mitch Thorp fell to St. John's Lucas Hejhal and Viadik and Munshaw, 8-5, while coaches Michael Meyer and Eric Steidlmayer were defeated by Oklahoma State's Jakob Sude and Lucas Gerch, 8-5.

Following tournament play on Sunday, UC Davis is scheduled to face Villanova in a dual match at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
