TUCSON, Ariz. -- UC Davis junior Hanna Tears and sophomore Serena Yee finished in a tie for fourth in the consolation finals of the 3-meter board on Friday afternoon, pacing the Aggies on day one of the Wildcat Diving Invitational at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson, Arizona.

After posting top-15 finishes in the preliminary round, Tears and Yee each scored a 215.80 in the consolation final round to place behind Arizona's Karolyn Loftus, who won the consolation event with a score of 250.50. Tears finished 12th in the preliminary round with a score of 235.00, while Yee was just behind her in 13th with a score of 232.15.

The Wildcats' Samantha Pickens scored a 359.35 to win the 3-meter championship, pacing a 1-2-3 finish on the high board for the host school.

Juniors Audrey DeNeffe and Lucy Lafranchise also posted top-20 finishes during the preliminary round, scoring a 215.95 and 210.90, to finish 17th and 19th, respectively. Senior Shannon Stewart (203.10) in 23rd and freshman Angelina Proshak (199.30) in 26th rounded out the UC Davis contingent.

Competition continues on Saturday (Nov. 22) at Noon.
