DAVIS, Calif. -- Sophomore Bryce McKelvie took home the Flight B main draw singles crown while classmate James Wade won the Flight A consolation singles title to close out the final day of play at the Aggie Fall Invitational at the Marya Welch Tennis Center on Sunday.

Matched up against teammate, freshman Everett Maltby, in the semifinals, the fourth-seeded McKelvie outlasted the UC Davis rookie in a three-set marathon, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, advancing to face Nevada's Robert Margitfalvi in the championship. That match went to a third-set tiebreaker, one McKelvie would eke out after a loss in the second set en route to a, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (7), victory.

Also going head-to-head with a fellow Aggie, Wade posted a straight-set victory over junior Brett Bacharach, 6-2, 7-6, to advance to the Flight A consolation championship, battling back from a first set loss to defeat Pacific's Miguel Diaz, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (11).

Junior Adam Levie became the third UC Davis singles player to advance to a championship match on Sunday, defeating Pacific Ashwin Sharma, 7-6, 6-4, in the Flight B consolation semifinals, but could not sustain the momentum, falling in straight sets to top-seeded Wyatt Houghton of California, 7-6, 6-4, in the championship match.

The Flight B doubles consolation bracket championship saw the Aggies' tandem of Bacharach and Wade matched up against California's top-seeded duo of Mads Engsted and JT Nishimura, with the Golden Bears' duo posting an 8-4 victory.

Sophomore Jesse Ross posted a consolation singles win over Saint Mary's Wil Martin, 6-2, 6-2, and teamed up Levie for an 8-6 win over the Gaels' Sam Bloore and Alec Wagner, 8-6, to close out the day.

UC Davis returns to action next weekend, heading to the coast for the UC Santa Barbara Classic beginning on Friday (Oct. 10) and running through the weekend.
