Draws & Results

STANFORD, Calif. -- The UC Davis fifth-seeded doubles duo of Alec Adamson and Adam Levie walked into the quarterfinals of the main draw, while four Aggie singles players took home wins in consolation singles play, capping day two action at the 2014 USTA/ITA Northwest Regionals in Stanford, California, on Saturday.

Adamson and Levie, who made a run to the main draw semifinals at last year's tournament, posted an 8-3 win over Portland's Kent Andreasen and Jared Madison, and advanced when California's ninth-seeded duo of William Griffith and J.T. Nishimura pulled out due to illness. The UC Davis team will take on either Pacific's fourth-seeded team of Daniel Alameh and Marlon Brand or Oregon's ninth-seeded team of Daan Maasland and Simon Stevens on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Another Aggie doubles team is into the quarterfinals, this time in the consolation bracket, as junior Brett Bacharach and sophomore Jesse Ross defeated Eastern Washington's Rendell Burghart and Luke Ness, 8-6, and moved on when both potential Stanford opponents withdrew. Bacharach and Ross will face either Sacramento State's Sean Kolar and Deric Wanland or Pacific's Miguel Diaz and Bernardo Oliveira in Sunday's quarterfinals.

In other main draw doubles action, Tommy Lam and James Wade fell to top-seeded Gregory Bayane and Chasen Melton, 8-5, in the main draw, while Everett Maltby and Eli Whittle defeated Portland State's Nacor Ibanez and Jonathan Pike, 8-6, in the consolation draw.

On the singles side, Wade's run through the main draw was stopped in the round of 16 by Fresno State's Euan McIntosh in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, four of the six Aggies in the consolation draw posted wins on Saturday to move on.

Bacharach defeated Gonzaga's Sergio Chip, 6-4, 6-3, Maltby defeated Washington's Dragos Puscalau, 6-1, 6-1, and Levie handed Pacific's Lance Ngo, a 6-4, 6-3, loss. Ross was the only UC Davis winner to be pushed to a tie breaking third set, eventually defeating Sacramento State's Joaquin Marquez, 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (8).
