Final Stats
DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's tennis team couldn't take a sweep on the weekend, falling to San Francisco 6-1 on Sunday at the Golden Gate Park.
Kyle Miller had the only singles win of the day for the Aggies at the No. 4 position as UC Davis dropped a pair of doubles matches en route to the loss. The Dons improved to 9-8 with the win, while the Aggies fell to 4-9 on the season.
Nick Lopez and Toki Sherbakov had the best showing in the doubles matches, taking an 8-2 victory over Kotlyar/Bahri in the No. 1 position. San Francisco went won at the No. 2 and 3 positions however, to secure the doubles point.
Miller's singles victory came against Jacob Hartwig, as the freshman took a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win at the No. 4 position. UC Davis had a pair of three-set losses in the top positions, with Lopez falling to Ola Bakke, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Sherbakov also dropped a three-set match in the No. 2 position, losing 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to Mark DeCastro.
The Aggies will be back on the road next weekend for a pair of conference games, starting with a 1 p.m. match at UC Irvine on Saturday, Apr. 16.
