Final Stats

DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's tennis team won its second consecutive home match, taking a 4-3 win over Sonoma State on Saturday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

The Aggies bounced back from losing the doubles point to win in the top four singles positions to secure the win. UC Davis improved to 3-6 on the season while the Seawolves dropped to 0-8 on the year.

Kyle Miller and Chris Aria won the only doubles match for the Aggies, defeating the team of Drexler Dy and Bryce Keefer, 9-8. Pairings of Lopez/Coates and Horowitz/Horowitz lost in their respective doubles matches.

Nick Lopez got UC Davis on track in No. 1 singles, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Taylor Bianco. Miller followed suit at No. 4 singles, defeating Anthony Rollins, 6-2, 6-1. After an 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 Aria win at No. 3 singles over Daniel Henke, Connor Coates provided the clinching win with a 6-1, 6-7, 6-1 defeat of Dy. It was the second consecutive clinching win for Coates.

The Aggies will now have an extended break from competition, taking nearly a month off before getting back into action on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 12 p.m. against Cal Poly at home.
