DAVIS, Calif. - Dan Reese scored two goals and freshman Alex Henry recorded a goal and two assists as UC Davis took a 6-0 victory in an exhibition game against Dominican Thursday at Aggie Stadium.
In the ninth minute of play, Reese collected the ball from Henry, took a defender on, then slotted a shot into the far right corner from five yards out to give UC Davis a 1-0 advantage.
Lance Patterson would score next for the Aggies off a pass from Rene Cuellar. Cuellar dribbled past several defenders down the right sideline before reaching the goal line and passing the ball back into the middle of the six-yard box. Patterson then one-touched the shot into the back of the net.
UC Davis was awarded a penalty kick in the 40 minute mark which Jason Santos successfully converted to put UC Davis up 3-0 going into halftime.
Henry would score the Aggies' fourth goal midway through the second period. Reese passed the ball across the middle and Henry blasted the ball into the upper left corner from just outside the 18-yard box.
Reese's second goal of the night came in the 85th minute as he fired a shot from 15 yards out that stayed low and landed in the lower right corner of the goal.
Henry's corner kick in the 87th minute was placed perfectly for a header by Nathan Javadi for the final goal of the night.
Dominican goalkeeper Casey Gibson recorded four saves in 90 minutes of action.
The UC Davis defense prevented Dominican from taking any shots and gave up only one corner kick.
UC Davis will host Chico State Sunday at 11 a.m. at Aggie Soccer Field in the final exhibition match before the season opener.
