2010 Fall Sport Schedules

DAVIS, Calif. -- UC Davis has released the schedules for several fall sports including cross country, men's soccer, and men's water polo with additional schedules becoming available in the coming weeks.
In addition, the men's basketball, men's golf, women's soccer and field hockey schedules have been released and game times have been updated on the UC Davis football schedule for select games.
The men's soccer schedule features five games that will be played under the lights of Aggie Stadium, including four of the five Big West Conference games that UC Davis will host.
"We are really excited to play five of our nine home games in Aggie Stadium," said head men's soccer coach Dwayne Shaffer. "It is a beautiful facility with lights and it will be a large playing surface for soccer. Playing night games under the lights is always more exciting for the players as well as the fans. We hope playing night games will allow our fans to enjoy more of our games."
After hosting exhibition matches against Dominican and Chico State, UC Davis will play four nonconference matches, including the Causeway Cup matchup with Sacramento State Sept. 10, before participating in the Oregon State Hensor/Zaher Nike Classic, hosted by Oregon State, and the Husky Invitational, hosted by Washington.
The Aggies begin Big West play Oct. 2 against league and national powerhouse UC Santa Barbara at Harder Stadium before hosting UC Irvine at Aggie Stadium Oct. 6. After a road match at Cal State Northridge Oct. 9, UC Davis returns to host three straight conference games against UC Riverside, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara, all of which will be played under the lights of Aggie Stadium. The Aggies will host Cal Poly Oct. 30 at Aggie Soccer Stadium before closing out the season on the road at UC Riverside.
The UC Davis men's water polo schedule is highlighted by the Aggie Shootout which will take place at Schaal Aquatics Center Sept. 25-26 as well as a homestand against Loyola Marymount Nov. 2 and Stanford Nov. 12.
The Aggies open the season at Cal Sept. 4 and Fresno Pacific Sept. 10 before traveling to the Inland Empire Classic at the University of Redlands Sept. 11-12. UC Davis will also participate in the NorCal Tournament in Berkeley Sept. 18-19 as well as the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational Oct. 23-24.
The UC Davis men's and women's cross country teams will begin the 2010 season hosting the Aggie Open Sept. 4. In addition, the Aggies will hold the Doc Adams Open Nov. 6 and will travel to compete at the Hornet Jamboree Sept. 11 at Sacramento State.
UC Davis will also participate in the Dellinger Open at Oregon State Oct. 2 and Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational Oct. 16 before traveling to UC Riverside for the Big West Conference Championships Oct. 30.
Fall competition begins Saturday, Aug. 14 as the UC Davis women's soccer team travels to face Saint Mary's in an exhibition match.
