DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis defeated Sonoma State, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference men's tennis match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Aggies swept through doubles and posted five more wins in singles as they improved to 6-9 on the year. Nick Lopez, Toki Sherbakov, Connor Coates and Tyler Lee all posted two wins on the day for UC Davis.

Lopez paired with Hunter Lee at No.1 doubles to defeat Taylor Bianco and Connor Olson, 8-3. At No. 2, it was Coates and Sherbakov earning an 8-5 victory over Scott Gaynor and Anthony Rollins. UC Davis also won at No. 3 where Nic Amaroli and Tyler Lee edged Andrew Khuri-Yakub and Quan Vu, 8-6.

The Aggies posted singles wins at all positions except No. 5. All of the wins came in straight sets. Lopez was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Olson at No. 1. Sherbakov won again at No. 2 after disposing of Bianco, 6-3, 6-0. Tyler Lee defeated Vu at No. 3, 6-2, 6-4. Additional Aggie victories came from Chris Aria at No. 4 and Coates at No. 6.

Sonoma State fell to 7-8.

UC Davis returns to action April 9 when it hosts UC San Diego at 2 p.m.
