DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis cruised to a 7-0 victory over San Jose State in a non-conference women's tennis match Thursday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Aggies won every match and remained perfect at home on the year. It was also the second straight win for UC Davis, which improved to 4-7 on the year.

The first doubles match to finish featured Lauren Curry and Noelle Eades defeating Olivia Marshall and Jennifer Williams, 8-3, at No. 3. The Aggies then clinched the point when Ellie Edles teamed with Dahra Zamudio at No. 2 to claim an 8-3 victory over Anna Guzman and Chau Truong. UC Davis also picked up the win at No. 1 from Herzyl Legaspi and Desiree Stone.

Singles began with a win by Shawdee Rouhafza at No. 6 as she defeated Williams, 6-4, 6-0. UC Davis made it 3-0 when Edles posted a 6-3, 6-0 win over Sandra Florea at No. 1. The overall clinching victory came from Zamudio at No. 1. The Aggie defeated Marshall, 6-1, 6-3, to give UC Davis a 4-0 lead.

Stone and Legaspi capped off the Aggie scoring with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

UC Davis returns to action Friday when it hosts Portland State. The match will begin at 8:30 a.m. instead of the original 1:30 p.m. start time in an effort to get the contest in before rain predicted for later in the day.
