TUCSON, Ariz. - The UC Davis women's tennis team concluded its road trip at Arizona on Sunday with a 7-0 loss to the host Wildcats. The match featured singles play first as Arizona won all six matches. The Wildcats followed with three wins in doubles to complete the overall sweep.
Arizona (2-0) needed three sets to get past UC Davis (0-2) in three of the singles matches. Sarah Landsman overcame a first-set loss to Desiree Stone to eventually win, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1. Arizoan's Debora Castany defeated Ellie Edles, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5. At No. 6, the Aggies' Sidney Brady was defeated by Jane Huh, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0.
The Wildcats had an easier time in doubles with 8-4 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 after an 8-0 win at No. 3.
UC Davis is next in action Feb. 2 when it plays at No. 13 Stanford.
