CLAREMONT, Calif. - The UC Davis men's tennis team was defeated by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 5-4, Sunday in a non-conference match at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. The Aggies grabbed three points with a sweep in doubles before the Stags countered with five wins in singles.

Josh Albert and Nic Amaroli were the first to finish in doubles as the UC Davis duo defeated Thomas Keiffer and Eric MacColl, 8-4. Tyler Lee and Michael Reiser followed with a 9-7 win at No. 2 over Robbie Erani and Ronald Wu. Hunter Lee and Nic Lopez capped off doubles at No. 1 when they defeated Guillaume Schils and Lawrence Wang, 9-8 (5).

UC Davis (3-13) would take its 3-0 lead into singles and add to it when Tyler Lee defeated MacColl, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 4. At that point, the Aggies had a 4-0 lead. CMS (20-4) would come back and win the remaining five singles matches with four of the victories coming in three sets.

UC Davis is next in action Friday when it hosts Sacramento State at 2 p.m.
