INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - UC Davis was defeated by UC Irvine, 6-0, in Big West Tournament quarterfinal action Friday at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The No. 56 Anteaters clinched the doubles point before securing enough wins in singles to advance to the semifinals. UC Davis entered the match as the No. 7 seed at the championship while UCI (15-7) was No. 2. The loss ends the Aggies' season at 11-12.

The first doubles match to finish was on court two as UCI's Courtney Brown and Miranda Young defeated Herzyl Legaspi and Dahra Zamudio, 8-5. Stephanie Hammel and Heidi Kaloi won by the same score at No. 1 against Randi Schuler and Desiree Stone to clinch the 1-0 lead heading into singles.

The Anteaters made it 2-0 after Clare Fermin posted a straight sets victory at No. 3 over Legaspi. Rebecaa Kwan followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 against Jenna Kappel to give UC Irvine a 3-0 lead. Matches at No. 6, No. 2 and No. 5 all finished simultaneously as UCI clinched the win needing just one of those three wins.
