DAVIS, Calif. - Wine-tasting, dining, raffle and live and silent auctions will once again be highlights as UC Davis prepares to host the benefit 13th Annual Aggie Auction, delivered by AT&T, on May 2 at The Pavilion on the UC Davis campus.
The growing list of auction items and details for the 2009 Aggie Auction raffle are now listed at www.aggieauction.com). A new feature of the raffle this year will allow non-attendees to purchase raffle tickets without needing to be present to win. Tickets sell for as little as $5 and may be purchased on the auction website (www.aggieauction.com). Raffle items include a five-night Hawaiian dream vacation to the Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua (Maui), a seven-day cruise on Holland America and a $1,000 gift card to Costco.
Event organizers are hoping to raise more than $500,000 through the auction and sale of raffle tickets, trips, wine, golf outings, dinners, memorabilia and fine art. Proceeds will benefit UC Davis Athletics in its support of student-athletes. More than 2,000 items have been secured for the evening which begins with a silent auction at 4:30 p.m. and is followed by dinner at 7 and the live auction at 8.
The unique auction items include a barrel-tasting weekend for eight, a six-day cruise on Carnival Cruise lines, exquisite jewelry and a New York Broadway package with airfare and hotel accommodations. Additionally, there will be many golf outings, selections of fine wine, art, sports memorabilia and other items on the auction floor.
Persons not attending the auction are also able to proxy bid on the silent and live auction items. Complete information and an updated listing of auction items are available at the Aggie Auction website (www.aggieauction.com).
Reservations to attend the Aggie Auction are being accepted at (530) 752-2699 but have limited availability. Individual tickets are $100 each while tables of 10 are available for $900.
