DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's tennis team was defeated by Sacramento State, 6-1, Friday in a non-conference match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The visiting Hornets swept doubles before winning five of six in singles. Tyler Lee picked up a win for the Aggies at No. 4 singles. The match was the first of two at home this week for the Aggies before next week's Big West Tournament.

In doubles, Artur Klimenka and Jason Smith posted an 8-0 victory over Josh Albert and Nic Amaroli at No. 3. Holden Ching and Marko Starcevic were also victorious at No. 2 with an 8-2 win against Tyler Lee and Michael Reiser. In addition, No. 1 doubles went to Sacramento State as Kiryl Harbatsiuk and Anton Stryhas defeated Hunter Lee and Nick Lopez, 8-3.

Only one singles match went a full three sets, and it was won by Tyler Lee. The Aggie junior overcame a 6-2 loss in the first set against Ching to ultimately win, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. It was Lee's sixth win in his past seven singles matches. The only other match that wasn't won in straight sets was at No. 6 where Klimenka defeated Amaroli, 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (10-5).

UC Davis concludes its regular season Saturday when it hosts Cal Poly at 1 p.m. It will be the final career home match for Reiser.
