DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis women's tennis team won its third straight match with a 7-0 victory over Sonoma State Wednesday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Aggies swept doubles and singles to improve to 10-8 on the year. It was the team's fifth win in its last six matches. Sonoma State dropped to 5-4.

Herzyl Legaspi and Dahra Zamudio were winners at No. 1 doubles in an 8-5 decision over Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire. Sidney Brady teamed with Desiree Stone at No. 2 to pick up an 8-4 victory over Dana Carollo and Haley Hickock. The Aggies' Jenna Kappel and Andrea Phillips blanked Stephanie Hoffmire and Jeanette Peck, 8-0, at No. 3.

Zamudio anchored the No. 1 position in singles and defeated Luk, 6-0, 6-1. Stone was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Carollo at No. 2. Legaspi and Kappel also won in straight sets at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Jessica Harris and Emma Shapiro helped round out the Aggie sweep in singles.

UC Davis will be off until April 3 when it resumes Big West Conference action against Cal Poly at home.
