DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's tennis team was defeated by Pacific, 6-1, Sunday afternoon in the Big West Conference opener for both teams at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. Pacific (1-1) swept doubles before taking five of six in singles. Hunter Lee accounted for the lone point by UC Davis (1-3) with a three-set victory at No. 3.

Doubles began with a victory at No. 3 as Christian Kuehne and Karl-Erik Paaro defeated Josh Albert and Kevin Liang, 8-2. The Tigers clinched the match's first point when Renan Delsin and Moritz Starke posted an 8-5 victory over Nic Amaroli and Michael Reiser at No. 1.

Three of the singles matches went three sets with Pacific winning two of those along with three others in straight sets. Lee's win was a come-from-behind performance after he dropped the first set to Vegerd Veskimagi. The junior then won the second set and claimed a 6-3 victory in the third set. The Aggies' Chris Aria and Liang battled in three-set losses at No. 5 and No. 6.

UC Davis is next in action Feb. 14 when it hosts UC Santa Barbara at 1 p.m.
