SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Davis men's soccer team fell 2-0 to No. 2 UC Santa Barbara Saturday night at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The Aggies conclude the regular season with a 6-12-1 overall record and a 3-6-1 Big West record while the second-ranked Gauchos improved to 14-3-2 overall and 8-1-1 in conference play.

The teams went into the halftime break scoreless despite six shot attempts by UC Santa Barbara. UC Davis had only three attempts during the first period. In the 25th minute, Jacob Barron had the Aggies' first try but the shot was saved by UCSB goalkeeper Sam Hayden.

At the 27th minute mark, senior Chris Leer took a shot that went wide. Paul Marcoux closed out the half for the Aggies with a shot that sailed high.

In the 64th minute, UCSB's Martin Hedevag cleared the ball out to David Walker. Walker headed it over to Michael Nonni who scored from 35 yards out to put the Gauchos up 1-0.

Only two minutes later, the Gauchos scored again when a shot by Walker deflected off of UC Davis defender Ethan Shawlee and into the back of the net.

Despite an increase in offensive production, UC Davis couldn't find the back of the net and UC Santa Barbara took the 2-0 victory.

Matt Provencher recorded two saves in 90 minutes of action for the Aggies while Hayden had five saves.

The Gauchos outshot the Aggies 15-10.
