BERKELEY, Calif. - UC Davis opened its fall schedule Friday at the Cal Nike Invitational in Berkeley. Two Aggies were in action as Herzyl Legaspi and Dahra Zamudio played singles matches and also teamed up in doubles.

Both Aggies started their day with a doubles match against a split team. Jaklin Alawi of Long Beach State paired with Saint Mary's Molly Aloia to defeat the UC Davis duo, 9-7, in the Flight B round of 16.

Legaspi and Zamudio both played in Flight A Singles. Legaspi was defeated by Cal's Nelly Radeva, 6-2, 6-1, in the round of 32. Arizona State's Micaela Hein defeated Zamudio, 6-1, 6-1. In consolation play, Zamudio defeated Megan Price of BYU, 6-4, 7-5. Legaspi fell to Ana Chikhikvishvili of Saint Mary's, 6-2, 6-2.

Legaspi and Zamudio will take part in doubles consolation action on Saturday while Zamudio will continue in singles consolation.
