DAVIS, Calif. - Senior midfielder Dylan Curtis added two more weekly honors to his collection on Tuesday as he was named to the College Soccer News and Soccer America National Team of the Week. Curtis joins teammate Quincy Amarikwa as Aggies who have earned national weekly honors this season.
Curtis, who was named Big West Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday, led UC Davis to a 2-0 showing at the USD/SDSU Tournament with a game-winning goal and assist. His game-winning goal came on a penalty kick in the 104th minute to give the Aggies a 2-1 win over San Diego on Friday. He assisted Amarikwa's game-winner in Sunday's 2-1 decision over San Diego State. He also assisted Sule Anibaba's goal to record his fourth two-assist game of the season. All three players were named to the all-tournament team.
Curtis joins Amarikwa as UC Davis players who have earned College Soccer News and Soccer America weekly honors this season. They are the first two Division I Aggies to earn Soccer America honors.
The Aggies return to action this week as they renew their Causeway Cup rivalry with Sacramento State on Thursday at Hornet Field at 4 p.m. They return home on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Air Force.
