MESA, Ariz. - Arizona State earned bonus wins at 125, 141 and 174 pounds and benefited from a forfeit at 197 en route to a 26-12 victory over UC Davis in a Pacific-10 Conference wrestling dual at Mesa High School Saturday afternoon.

It was the conference opener for both teams and brings the Aggies' overall record to 1-1. It was also the season-opening competition for the Sun Devils.

Sophomores Brandon Low (133), Ricky Alcala (285) and Barrett Abel (149), and redshirt freshman Joey Wilson (157) each won their matches. All four also won matches last night at Embry-Riddle. Abel was just two points shy of a major decision with his 10-4 win. Low won 7-3 and Wilson earned his win by a 5-1 score. Alacla pulled out a tight 2-1 victory in the heavyweight bout.

Anthony Robles captured a pin at 125 at the 4:05 mark to help lead the Sun Devils. Chris Drouin supplied a 12-3 major decision at 141 and Eric Starks earned his 17-4 major decision at 174. The Sun Devils also benefited with six points from a forfeit at 197 and one-point decisions at 165 and 184.

UC Davis takes off next week to focus on training before welcoming Northwestern to The Pavilion for the home opener on Nov. 23 at 6 p.m.
