DAVIS, Calif. - Brandon Low, Barrett Abel and Ricky Alcala were eliminated from the 2010 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships Thursday at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb.

At 133 pounds, Brandon Low opened the tournament with a narrow first round loss to 12th--seeded Steve Mytych of Drexel. With less than 30 seconds remaining in the match, Low found himself on the losing end of a 3-2 decision and attempted a last second takedown for the win, but was unable to complete the move before time ran out.

Low would face 11th-seeded Scotti Sentes of Central Michigan in the wrestleback second round, but fell to Sentes by an 8-3 decision.

Barrett Abel, seeded tenth at 149 pounds, was upset in the first round by Central Michigan's Anthony D'Alie by a 5-2 decision. Abel then dropped a 14-9 decision to Michigan State's David Cheza in the third round of the wrestlebacks.

In the heavyweight bracket, Ricky Alcala dropped to the wrestleback rounds after a narrow 3-2 loss to Navy's Scott Steele, the 12th-seed. Alcala then met fellow Pac-10 opponent Clayton Jack of Oregon State, but suffered a second close loss after Jack held on to a 2-1 decision.
