DAVIS, Calif. - It was announced Monday by College Soccer News that UC Davis junior forward Chris Leer has been named to their National Team of the Week for the period ending Nov. 23. It marks the first weekly honors in Leer's career.

Leer, a native of Danville, scored a career-high two goals in the Aggies' 4-0 win over Denver during Saturday's NCAA Championship First Round game at Aggie Soccer Stadium. It marked the first-ever NCAA Division I playoff victory for a UC Davis team. It was also the men's soccer program's first NCAA tournament home game. Leer added some flair to his first goal as he converted a bicycle kick that landed inside the left post. His second strike came with 5:53 remaining in the game when he completed a 1-v-1 transition opportunity.

The 17th-ranked Aggies advanced to the second round of the tournament and will play No. 13 Michigan in Ann Arbor on Tuesday at 11 a.m. PT.
