DAVIS, Calif.-- UC Davis senior Dylan Curtis added to his list of academic achievements on Thursday morning when the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced that he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team in District 8. This marks the inaugural all-district academic honors of Curtis' career.
A native of Pleasanton, Calif., Curtis' first-team honors advance him for consideration on the All-America ballot, which will be announced Nov. 19. Curtis earned the distinction in the University Division of District 8, which encompasses all NCAA Division I schools on the West Coast.
Curtis has helped lead UC Davis to one of its most successful seasons in program history. His 10 assists this season are just one shy of the school record and have ranked him in the top six nationally. He also has a career high in goals (5) and points (20). For his efforts, Curtis sits just one assist shy of second on the UC Davis career list.
Academically, Curtis is one class away from completing his degree in managerial economics with an overall GPA of 3.38. He was recently named one of only 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Last season he was the UC Davis Big West Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In addition, Curtis is also a member of the Dean's List in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Letters and Sciences.
