STOCKTON, Calif. - Junior Casie Mota scored four goals while junior Christi Raycraft and freshman Ashley Chandler each had three scores to help ninth-ranked UC Davis explode from a tight first half to a 16-8 win over Pacific in non-conference women's collegiate water polo action at Kjeldsen Pool Saturday.

The Aggies remain undefeated, improving to 4-0. The Tigers drop to 0-2 overall.

Mota scored all four of her goals after a 3-3 start. Raycraft and senior Katherine O'Rourke put UC Davis up 2-0 within the first two minutes of play, then freshman Kelsey Morino cut the lead to 2-1 in the closing seconds of the first period. Junior Kellie Fletcher tied the game in the first minute of the second quarter. Chandler and Aggie junior Jessica Soza traded goals to bring the game to a 3-3 tie, then Mota hit a 6-on-5 chance to give UC Davis a 4-3 edge at the halftime break.

The Aggies exploded for five goals in the third quarter while senior goalie Amber Korner protected the UC Davis cage with two saves. Pacific freshman Sarah Harris hit an advantage goal at 3:43 in the third, putting put the Tigers within a 6-5 deficit. However, that was as close as Pacific got, as Chandler and senior Cassie Schaefer quickly ignited a 4-0 run after that point to pad the margin to 10-5.

Mota led six Aggies in a seven-goal onslaught in the fourth period, finding the back of the Tiger cage at the 2:53 and 1:57 marks in a 4-0 run.

Harris led the Tigers with four goals while Fletcher added two. Jocelyn Gray posted 10 saves and two steals for Pacific.

UC Davis returns to WWPA action with games against UC Santa Cruz and Cal State Monterey Bay Sunday.
